The practice opened here in 1992 as Robert Duhig Dental; the name changed to Sandgate Bayside Dental under the current dentists. Many patients have attended for years, and often across generations of the same family.
Each appointment starts with an examination and a plain-language explanation of what was found. Treatment options are set out with an itemised estimate before anything begins, so you can decide in your own time.

Sandgate Bayside Dental offers IV sedation for patients with dental anxiety and for longer procedures such as wisdom teeth removal and implant surgery. It is a form of conscious sedation: you remain able to respond but are deeply relaxed. It is administered and monitored by a dedicated sedationist throughout, while the dentist carries out the treatment.
Suitability is assessed at a consultation beforehand. Some medical conditions and medications can make sedation unsuitable, in which case the dentist will discuss other ways of making treatment comfortable. Sedated patients need someone to take them home afterwards.
If it has been years since your last visit, the first appointment can simply be an examination and a conversation about options, with nothing else booked until you decide. Dr Vikram Bansal is the practice’s sedation and implant dentist.
Implant treatment at Sandgate Bayside Dental is completed at 74 Loudon Street from the first scan to the final tooth. A CBCT 3D scan is taken in the practice to assess bone and plan the implant position, the implant is placed here, and the crown, bridge or full-arch restoration is fitted here, so there is no referral between clinics.
Options range from a single implant for one missing tooth to All-on-X, which replaces a full arch of teeth on four or more implants. A single implant — post, abutment and crown — is $4,200 all-inclusive, and every case receives an itemised estimate before treatment.
Patients who are anxious about the surgical appointment can have their implants placed under IV sedation. Read about dental implants for North Brisbane patients.
Rebates claimed on the spot through HICAPS; itemised estimate before any treatment
Spread the cost of larger treatments, from $50 a week depending on the provider and the amount, through Afterpay, Zip, Humm or DentiCare. See interest free payment plans.
Eligible children are bulk billed under the Child Dental Benefits Schedule, up to $1,158 over two calendar years, subject to eligibility and remaining balance.
Fees vary with the treatment required; your written estimate is the figure that applies to you.
