What TUH Members Receive at a Preferred Provider
TUH and Union Health members with extras cover receive no-gap preventive dental at our practice. The covered preventive items are examinations, x-rays and scale and cleans — TUH item numbers 011, 012, 013, 022, 074, 111, 113, 114, 115 and 121. Coverage of some x-ray items varies by policy.
How the benefit applies depends on your TUH product:
- Extras cover (excluding Basic Extras): covered preventive treatments at no out-of-pocket cost.
- Gold Ultimate Choice, Gold Easy Choice, Comprehensive Extras, Family Extras and Everyday Extras: no limit on the number of no-gap preventive treatments.
- Silver+ Active Choice, Bronze+ Young Choice and Mid Range Extras: no-gap preventive treatments up to your annual general dental limit.
- Basic Extras: reduced out-of-pocket costs on preventive dental up to your annual limit.

Dental Services for TUH Members
Beyond preventive care, TUH pays a benefit toward general and major dental depending on your level of cover: fillings, crowns and bridges, root canal treatment, veneers, whitening, Invisalign and emergency dental care.
You receive a written treatment plan with itemised costs and item numbers before anything begins, so you can confirm your rebate with TUH first. Where a gap remains, interest-free payment plans start from $50 per week.
Other Health Funds
We are also a preferred provider for nib, Westfund and HCF, and an HIF Choice Network provider. HICAPS on the spot claiming is available for Bupa, Medibank and all other major funds.

How do I claim my TUH benefit?
Bring your TUH membership card to your appointment. We process your claim on the spot through HICAPS, so your benefit is deducted before you pay and there is no paperwork afterwards. For covered preventive services, eligible members have nothing to pay on the day.

Where are you located and when are you open?
We are at 74 Loudon Street, Sandgate, opposite Sandgate Town Hall, with a dedicated on-site car park. We are open Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:30 PM, and on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Closed Sunday.
