Serving North Brisbane families for over three decades, with many families now bringing a second generation of children.
Interest-free payment plans from $50/week with an easy application process.

Located in the heart of the Bayside, Sandgate Bayside Dental has looked after children from across North Brisbane since 1992 — from their very first tooth through to their teens.
Children are seen by Dr Emma Marshall, principal dentist Dr Vikram Bansal BDS MDS and Dr Shelly Bansal. Appointments are paced to suit your child, and parents are welcome to stay chairside throughout.
Gentle examinations and cleans to pick up decay and gum problems early, with fluoride applied where appropriate.
Fissure sealants on adult back teeth, fluoride treatments, and practical advice on brushing and tooth-friendly food.
Tooth-coloured fillings, crowns for baby teeth, and repairs after chips or knocks.
Checks from around age seven to see how the bite is developing, with referral to an orthodontist where specialist care is appropriate.

Extra time, clear explanations in child-friendly language, and comfort measures. For children who need more support, we can discuss a referral for treatment in hospital with a paediatric specialist.
Stay calm, store a knocked-out permanent tooth in milk (do not reimplant a baby tooth), apply a cold compress, and call us on 3269 2443 — same-day appointments are usually available. See our emergency dentist page for after-hours guidance.
Your child’s appointment is designed to build trust from the moment they arrive.

We regularly see children from Deagon, Brighton, Bracken Ridge, Shorncliffe, Boondall, Taigum, Redcliffe, Clontarf, Margate and Woody Point.
The practice is at 74 Loudon Street, Sandgate, opposite Sandgate Town Hall and a short walk from Sandgate train station, with free parking nearby.
Children’s dentistry in Sandgate

Children are seen by Dr Emma Marshall, principal dentist Dr Vikram Bansal BDS MDS and Dr Shelly Bansal. You can read more about each of them on our team page.
At the first visit we take time to let your child settle, explain each step in language they understand, and keep the appointment paced to their comfort.
Eligible children aged 0–17 are bulk billed under Medicare’s Child Dental Benefits Schedule, and we bulk bill all eligible services so there is no gap to pay — full details, the current benefit cap and how to check your child’s balance are on our bulk billed children’s dentist page.
We also offer interest-free payment plans from $50 per week, and HICAPS on the spot claiming for health funds, so you only pay the gap on the day.
By age one, or within six months of their first tooth appearing. Early visits are short and focused on familiarisation rather than treatment, which helps your child get comfortable with the room and the team before any dental work is ever needed. We also check tooth development and discuss brushing and diet.
Yes. We use calm, unhurried communication, explain each step in language your child understands, and use distraction where it helps. Parents are welcome to stay chairside. For children who need more support than a normal appointment allows, we can discuss a referral for treatment in hospital with a paediatric specialist.
Yes. We accept all major Australian health funds and claim on the spot through HICAPS, so you only pay any gap on the day. Fund-specific details are on our HCF and nib fund pages. Bring your fund card to the appointment and our reception team will process the claim for you.
Yes. We offer Afterpay and Zip for same-day treatment, and Humm and DentiCare for larger treatment plans, with payment plans starting from $50 a week. Our reception team can explain the options and set a plan up before treatment begins so you know the cost in advance.
We treat severe toothache, broken or chipped teeth, lost fillings, dental abscesses, knocked-out teeth and sporting injuries, and we provide emergency extractions where required. Same-day appointments are usually available for a child in pain, so call us as early in the day as you can.

Yes. We carry out early orthodontic assessments from around age seven, once enough adult teeth have come through to show how the bite is developing. Picking up crowding or alignment issues early can make later treatment simpler, and we refer to an orthodontist where specialist care is appropriate.
Yes. We treat patients of all ages, including children needing urgent care. Call us on 3269 2443 as early as you can and we will fit your child in the same day where possible. Outside opening hours, leave a message and we will return your call when we open.
Call us immediately. If it is a permanent tooth, hold it by the crown rather than the root, rinse it briefly in milk if it is dirty, and try to place it back in the socket. If that is not possible, store it in milk or saliva and bring it with you. Do not reimplant a baby tooth.
For over 30 years, our practice has been caring for people from Sandgate, Shorncliffe, Brighton, Deagon, Bracken Ridge, Bald Hills, Boondall, Taigum, Fitzgibbon, Woody Point, Clontarf, Margate and Redcliffe and other surrounding areas.
Our main priority is to provide affordable, gentle and quality dental care to the Sandgate and surrounding communities.
